Sign the Charter of Brussels
Charter of Brussels [190 KB]
On Friday, May 15th, several European cities will sign the Charter of Brussels in the European Parlement, bringing the Velo-city conference to a fitting conclusion.
By signing the charter, cities commit themselves to invest in bicycle policy as an integrated part of urban mobility. At the same time, the charter is a call on the European Union to promote urban cycling.
Our goal is to have as many cities as possible sign the charter before (and after) the conference. Their names will be published on this website and be shown during the signing ceremony in the Parliament, where the mayors of Helmond, Seville, Copenhagen, Brussels, Reggio Emilia, Varna, Tartu, Budapest and Munich will be present.
Does your city want to sign the Charter?
Signing is easy: send an email to ECF secretary general Dr Bernhard Ensink (b.ensink[AT]ecf.com), mentioning the city, the name of the spokesperson and a telephone number to enable us to check if the person really represents the city.
You do NOT have to physically sign the charter in Brussels! You're very welcome, of course, but just an e-mail with contact info is OK, to enable us to check if the person really represents the city.
